The Notre Dame Club of Grand Rapids serves the 1,300+ alumni, family, and friends living in the Metro Grand Rapids region. We provide a non-stop schedule of service opportunities, social events, and continuing education activities. The mission of this Club also includes raising funds to support our local Notre Dame students through the Notre Dame Club of Grand Rapids Scholarship Foundation and our annual Summer Service Projects.
The Club started volunteering with WGVU in 2000 and has continued to do so multiple times each year since then. “We work four hour shifts taking pledges from local viewers during the station’s pledge drives. The volunteers get to enjoy the shows that are broadcast that evening, talk to the wonderful people in West Michigan, and get a behind the scenes look at how WGVU operates. Volunteering with WGVU has been a great way for us to help our community, support public broadcasting, and promote the activities of our Club. We always have a great time and share many laughs with the WGVU crew!”
The Notre Dame Club of Grand Rapids also volunteers with many other local non-profit organizations including Catholic Charities of West Michigan, Habitat for Humanity, and many others. If you or anyone you know would be interested in joining the Notre Dame family in West Michigan or volunteering with the Club, please feel free to contact Patricia Schrand at 616-575-8730.
