Jacquie Lovegrove is a senior at Grand Valley State University studying Corporate Event Planning. “I love to socialize,” she says. Jacquie is from Okemos, MI, where she grew up and her family currently resides. She has seven sisters, three brothers, and a dog named Spanky.
Jacquie said she originally got involved with WGVU to become more involved in the community and participate in more extracurricular activities outside of the University. So far, Jacquie’s duties have been answering phones during both TV and radio membership drives; volunteering in various positions at ‘Food, Wine and All That Jazz’ our annual fall wine and beer tasting event. “However, I have come to really enjoy answering phones during the membership drives, and socializing with other volunteers and the people who work at WGVU. I have learned a lot during my volunteer time with WGVU and look forward to continuing my interactions with them,” Jacquie said.
“Someday, I want to be a Corporate Event Planner, planning conferences, and other large events. At GVSU, I work for Campus Dining, and in my free time, I am an active participant in the Civil War Club at GVSU. My favorite things to do are read, write, and watch Sci-fi. I’m a huge Star Trek fan,” said Jacquie.
“My mom and dad are my greatest inspirations. They always encourage me and my mom is the person who edits my professional e-mails, and my dad reads over my résumé for me. I would be lost without them and because of them, I am currently volunteering with WGVU, and hence, being highlighted for my participation. Thanks Mom and Dad!”
