Chelsea Dubey is the newest member of the development team at WGVU, serving as the Major Gifts Coordinator. She will be responsible for major giving for WGVU, and will oversee the growth of the Public Broadcasting Society. Born and raised in Mid-Michigan, Chelsea attended Michigan State University and is now proud to call West Michigan home.
Chelsea’s experiences have spanned many areas that will be beneficial to her new role at WGVU. She began her career in Indianapolis where she worked in nonprofit housing and later for an arts organization. Most recently, Chelsea was on staff at the University of Memphis, both at the alumni association and the law school. At the law school, Chelsea served as the Director of Communications and Special Events where she worked closely with alumni, donors and students to increase the visibility and reputation of the law school.
“I am thrilled to be a part of the WGVU team and to serve as an official advocate for public media. I grew up watching all of the wonderful children’s programming that my local PBS affiliate offered, and truly believe that it molded me into the person I am today.”
In addition to being a working mother and wife, Chelsea enjoys the arts, travel and nice long walks with her family. Her husband Jeff is in finance at Amway and they are currently searching for their new home in Grand Rapids. They have one son, Connor, who recently celebrated his first birthday.
